Himes
Machine operates a very "high tech" EDM
department utilizing the best of equipment and
tooling. Our Wire EDM expertise enables us to
wire cut virtually all conductive steel types as
well as all grades of carbide. Himes Machine can
maintain tolerances to +/- .00005" and can cut
with wire diameters as small as .002" when very
sharp corners are needed. Our Wire EDM
department is where Himes Machine has perfected
to "Turn and Burn" wire cutting process to
obtain extreme small diameters. Because of our
late model machine tools utilizing the latest in
technologies, we can obtain the best in surface
finished required by our customers.
Turn & Burn ED
Process
Turn and Burn is an EDM process in which a round
part is spinning submerged in a Wire EDM machine
while the EDM cuts a very small precise finished
diameter. This process is not physically
practical using other conventional machining
processes because of the tool pressure caused by
these methods. The end result is an extremely
close tolerance diameter and an industry
standard fine EDM finish. |
